Glamour.com editor and longtime LR friend Jenny Feldman was sweet enough to send us these gorgeous photos taken on her wedding day featuring the metallic Carlie mignon twist sandal. She answered some questions for us below about her own wedding style but you'll be able to read more of her great advice on the newly launched Glamour.com/weddings!
Congratulations on your wedding and thanks for the great pictures! How did you choose your wedding attire?
I literally picked out my dress four weeks before the wedding. (I had another one, but changed my mind!) I wanted something simple. Originally I planned to wear a short dress, but when I came across the grosgrain gown from Lela Rose, I was smitten!
And the shoes?
I originally wanted a bright color (like red or pink) but then I realized that what would look right for my setting (a farm in Northern Vermont) would be something a bit more natural. I loved the Carlie in metallic because it was subtle, a bit Grecian but also didn’t feel glaringly out of place in the rural setting. Also it was vital that I wear flats because our ceremony was outdoors, and there was no way I was going to walk across a meadow into a garden wearing crazy heels. Even though I’m only 5’2” I felt totally glamorous and myself in the flats.
How did you and Jessie meet?
Jessie and I met shortly before she launched LR in a shoe making class (believe it or not!) I was taking the class for the purposes of a story I was writing for Elle and Jessie was obviously this insanely talented designer. I was like, “Wow! Who is this girl who knows SO MUCH about beautiful shoes!” I still remember the shoes she made in the class: a pair of gorgeous embossed or snakeskin-y looking gold platform heels. They were so stunning and simple. My shoes came out heinous. There’s a reason I’m a writer and Jessie is a designer!
You've been a long-time LR fan what draws you to the brand?
It sounds corny but I almost only wear LR shoes. For work and weekend, I can most often be found in their flat boots on the weekend or for commuting and a pair of their ankle boots or platform boots at the office, where I love to rock heels. It’s really the only brand I buy other than my Toms and sneakers. What draws me to the brand is a mix of comfort, style (everyone always compliments me on all my shoes) and sheer obsessiveness. Every season I’m amazed by how many LR shoes I actually want — they are always so fresh and gorgeous. And they truly are comfortable (you will never catch me in a painful stiletto).
