We were pleased to work with Stockholm-based illustrator, Cecilia Carlstedt, to launch our Pre-Fall 2011 collection. Cecilia knew from an early age that she wanted to express herself through illustration and her impressive career speaks not only to her extraordinary talent, but her passion as well. Cecilia has lent her creativity to such fashion powerhouses as Vogue, Swarovski and Elle.
We love Cecilia's ability to take the LR designs and evoke an emotion for each individual shoe. We asked her about her process and sources of inspiration and here are her responses:
How do you get inspired when you are staring at a blank sheet of paper?
I need to start quickly by dropping some ink or scribble something on it as a random starting point, then the illustration will develop from there.
What do you like about illustrating fashion?
Fashion gives me the freedom to play and exaggerate with shapes and form on imaginary figures.
Describe your personal style in one sentence:
Experimental, eclectic and essentially linked to the world of fashion.
What are some of the best perks to living in Stockholm?
To be surrounded by the beautiful archipelago, the welfare system, Tranan bar, in summer to be able to swim in the center of town.
